Jenna is a young pregnant woman down on her luck. With barely enough money to care for herself, she's overwhelmed at the thought of bringing another life into this world. She's willing to do almost anything to make money and take care of the two of them. Her car's the only home she has. 

Eddie is an elderly veteran dealing with the first stages of dementia. Having little contact with his children and grandchildren, he attempts to fight off loneliness with little success. As he struggles to keep his mind sharp, he worries that his best times are behind him.

Jenna and Eddie's lives are about to intersect in ways neither of them could ever have predicted. But for now, they have just one thing in common: they both play a game on their phones called Words with Friends.
